Able Installations & Construction Inc., a North Carolina licensed General Contractor, is a family business owned by Frank and Ruth Kearney. ABLE, was originally formed to specialize in home renovations and quickly evolved into two divisions: a specialty renovator, with the acquisition of a Franchise to build "Four Seasons Sunrooms" and a Swimming Pool and Spa retailer.
Our Four Seasons Sunrooms business exploded immediately after our first advertising campaign and in 1996, ABLE was honored with a national award from Four Seasons Sunrooms as the "Rookie of the Year".
Since that time ABLE has constructed over 300 Four Seasons Sunrooms mostly in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties and as far away as Murrell's Inlet South Carolina and Plymouth North Carolina and many places in between. We are proud to be involved with Four Seasons Sunrooms, which is recognized as the best product of its kind in the world. It also reaffirmed our determination to offer highest quality products at a reasonable price and to compete on quality and performance as our primary guidelines.
In the fall of 2000, we decided that we wanted to be able to offer a pool to homeowners who wanted an alternative to a vinyl lined swimming pool, other than expensive concrete pools. Our research kept pointing to one company as the industry leader in fiberglass pools and in the spring of 2001, we were proud to be awarded an exclusive dealership with San Juan Fiberglass Pools of Lakeland Florida.
San Juan has been building fiberglass swimming pools since 1958 and their first pool is still being used in Seattle Washington almost 50 years since it was installed. The San Juan Fiberglass pool company is a family owned business and continues to be run on a daily basis by family members, recently opening another manufacturing facility in Phoenix Arizona to service its increasing demand in our western states. This new high tech facility has already achieved an outstanding level of production to meet the tremendous national demand for the San Juan product. If we have a question or a concern, or need help or guidance in a particular San Juan pool product it is a wonderful resource to be able to call on any of the hundreds of San Juan Pool dealers across America and we meet every year to discuss products and technical improvements. On more than one occasion I have been surprised by the president of San Juan pools when he has become personally involved in a technical or product question, even having the call diverted to him so he might give me his hands-on knowledge of the discussion.
That is what family business is all about; owners involved on the front line, every day and when asked, our customers tell us it is very re-assuring to be able to get Ruth or Frank on the phone, or on the jobsite, almost any time and get answers to queries first-hand from those who make the decisions. If only every business in America worked that way. Imagine getting Bill Gates on the line when your computer crashes!!

Some of the best experiences we have ever had is when we are demonstrating or describing one of our fine products and a customer for that product enters the showroom and becomes involved in the conversation. We slowly step back and watch as our customer tells another customer a story of satisfaction and contentment and helps complete a sales transaction as we never could. Nothing is as sincere as a satisfied customer and over the years we have developed hundreds of happy customers and that explains why a substantial amount of our business comes not from advertising or promotions, but from our customers telling others about their positive experiences dealing with Able Installations. That "word of mouth advertising" cannot be bought at any price except by doing what you say you will do, when you said you would do it and at a reasonable price. We have consistently been able to meet that goal. |
